Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

We are committed to making our services and spaces as safe as we can for everyone that wants to work with us. We cannot deem them safe for everyone, because that is not our statement to make. But we are inclusive of all people regardless of their gender identity, sexuality, faith, ethnicity, size, ability, needs or any other form of marginilaisation.

We do not tolerate hate, discrimination or bullying of any kind.

We strongly believe that you learn more from a diverse group of people with different lived experiences and that the world would be a better place if everyone lived by this.

If at any point, we do or say something that makes you question this, then we hope that you would feel able to call us in or out on this behaviour and you can reach out to us directly at either [email protected] or [email protected]

Words are good - but what do you do?

It is easy to say - but we want to show that we do this.

Lisa runs the Rotherham branch of The NETwork - an inclusive networking group for business owners and has spoken on diversification of spending at the UK Inclusive Sourcing Summit in her capacity as a female veteran with AuDHD and physical impairments.

We offer 4 free creative coaching sessions each month for people that would otherwise not be able to access them.

We offer discounts across our services for charities that want to work with us.

Our discovery calls allow us to research the people that want to work with us to make sure that we are a values fit - we have and will continue to turn down business that does not align with us.

We have and will continue to do what we can to support charities in terms of free products - from personalised gifts to merch.

We are only a small business, but we do what we can to support those that need it.

Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

At The Mother, we believe that great businesses are built on inclusion, creativity, and connection. We’re committed to making our website and services accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities and neurodivergent users. We continually work to improve the accessibility and usability of our site to try and create an inclusive experience for all visitors.

Accessibility is not a one-off task; it’s something we continually improve. As we add new content and functionality, we make sure that accessibility remains part of our design and development process.

We’ve taken a number of steps to make our website easier to navigate and use, including:

Ensuring clear structure and logical heading order for screen readers.

Using relevant alt text for images and not as SEO plugs.

Providing sufficient colour contrast across our branding.

Keeping consistency in colours and layouts.

Avoiding flashing or strobing content.

Keeping navigation consistent and simple.

Using plain, clear language wherever possible.

We aim to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards where feasible.

Attending training to ensure we are improving our knowledge and updating our practices.

If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, we genuinely want to hear from you. Please email us at [email protected] - or by what ever means is best for you.

We aim to respond to all accessibility feedback within 5 working days.

Our website is built on FEA Create (a white labelled version of High Level) and as such, we are restricted in terms of the settings available to us. If there is anything that is unusable on our website then please let us know and we will send this feedback to those companies as well to inform them of changes that need to be made.

Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond the digital space. Whether you’re visiting us at events, using one of our e-commerce platforms, or working with us as a business client, we strive to ensure our services are inclusive and adaptable to your needs.

This statement is based on current best practices and relevant UK accessibility legislation, including the Equality Act 2010. We review this policy annually to ensure it remains accurate and reflective of our ongoing commitment.

OUR VALUES

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

As a business, we believe that honesty, transparency, respect and integrity are standard values that all business should operate by. These may not be listed as our core values, but we live and work by them every day.

Diversity and inclusion should also be the standard in every business - but this is not the case. Which is why Diversity and Inclusion are the first of our core values.

We want to make it clear from the start, that this is important to us. We believe business is stronger, bolder and better when everyone has a seat at the table. This means we actively stand with and support all marginalised communities - which include, but is not limited to:

Trans and non-binary people

People of all races, cultures, and ethnicities

Disabled communities - both visible and non-visible

All LGBTQ+ communities

Anyone who has been told, or made to feel like, they don't belong in business

We aim to make everything we do inclusive and accessible. We know that no business or person can declare themself a safe space, that is for you to decide based on our actions. But we will always do what we believe is best and continue trying to create spaces that you perceive as safe.

UNIQUENESS AND CREATIVITY

Creativity is at the heart of everything we do - from the products we design to the way we deliver our coaching.

And being unique? That's everything we want you to be - standing out and showing off all the sexy parts of your brand.

So, together these make up our second value.

We weave creativity into every part of our work so it shines through in yours. From our way of thinking, the way we work to the products themselves.

Because 'off the shelf' and 'normal' has never been our style - and it shouldn't be yours either.

RELATIONSHIP AND PASSION LED

We know the passion we have for our business - and we know you feel the same about yours! That's why we combine relationships and passion as our third value.

For us, this isn't about quick wins or one off projects. We're here for the long haul - building genuine relationships with the people we work with. That means focusing on how best we can help you and making sure we enjoy the process along the way.

Because, if we're being honest, we all start a business to pay the bills (and for freedom - but that is a while away just yet!) But it's the passion and the people that keep us going on the tough days.

We bring our love for what we do into every service that offer, every product, project and every partnership.
